They say you can get lost in a good book, but it’s worse to get lost in a bad one…

The Bookbinder is a dark and magical fairytale universe, where an old man begins to read the story of a former apprentice in a bookbindery. But the tale quickly becomes more than words on paper. Slowly, it begins to seep out of the pages and into the workshop around him.

Through shadow theatre, paper art, puppetry, and live music, the performance unfolds a sensory universe where reality and fantasy merge. The atmosphere calls to mind dark fantasy tales like Coraline, exploring the power of stories along the way: how narratives can consume us, transform us – and perhaps devour us entirely.
